Key Takeaways

  • The Next Level 6210 and 3600 share one weight, yarn size, and size chart; the 6210 adds 40% polyester.
  • Knits with more polyester shrink less, but polyester gives off more sweat odor than cotton.
  • Both are light 4.3 oz tees; for a thicker shirt, go heavier.
  • The 3600 has four more colors, and seven colors reach 6XL on each.

Table of Contents

The Next Level 6210 is a 4.3 oz CVC tee, 60% cotton and 40% polyester, and the Next Level 3600 is its 100% cotton counterpart. Next Level Apparel's spec sheets give both the same weight, the same 32-singles yarn size, and one size chart from XS to 6XL.

The choice between them comes down to that 40% polyester. It changes how the shirt handles the wash, how much sweat odor it gives off, and whether dye can bleed into a print. The two also differ in color, which matters most for a group that needs sizes past 3XL.

Next Level 6210 vs 3600: What Is Different?

The Next Level 6210 is 60% cotton and 40% polyester, and the Next Level 3600 is 100% cotton. On paper, that fabric is close to the only difference. We list them as the Next Level Apparel CVC T-Shirt and the Next Level Apparel Cotton T-Shirt. The table's fabric, weight, yarn, collar, and size lines come from Next Level's spec sheets. The color counts and prices come from our product pages.

Spec Next Level 6210 Next Level 3600
Fabric 60% combed ring-spun cotton, 40% polyester 100% combed ring-spun cotton (Oatmeal is 99/1 and Heather Gray 90/10 cotton/polyester)
Weight 4.3 oz per square yard, about 145 grams per square meter 4.3 oz per square yard

Beyond fabric, the table's one difference is color: the 3600 carries four more, and both reach 6XL in seven. The 3600 also suits a buyer who wants 100% cotton. The 6210's polyester should mean less shrink, but it can give off more sweat odor.

If your group already knows which fabric it prefers, shop custom t-shirts and open either shirt to start a design.

What Does CVC Mean on the Next Level 6210?

The CVC in the 6210's full name, the Next Level Apparel CVC T-Shirt, stands for "chief value cotton." Bella + Canvas, another shirt maker, describes it as a cotton and polyester blend with a heavier share of cotton. U.S. Customs and Border Protection described the term in a 2003 tariff ruling (CBP ruling NY J82187). In general, the ruling says, a fabric designated CVC is "a fabric in which cotton predominates by weight and is mixed solely with polyester." Next Level calls the 6210's fabric CVC Jersey.

On the 6210 the split is 60% cotton and 40% polyester, and its spec sheet lists no color that differs. The cotton is combed and ring-spun. Combing pulls short fibers and debris out before the yarn is spun. Cotton Incorporated says combing can make yarn softer, more even, and stronger (ISP 1006).

Yarn size is given as a number of singles, and the same source explains that a higher number means a finer yarn. At 32 singles, the 6210's yarn is finer than the 20 singles in a heavier tee like the Gildan 5000.

Heathers are where the 6210's color range differs most. Eleven of its 41 colors carry Heather in the name, meaning a soft, flecked look. On the 3600, only Heather Gray does, and its spec sheet makes that one color a 90/10 cotton and polyester blend.

How Does the Next Level 6210 Fit?

By the maker's numbers, the Next Level 6210 fits the same as the 3600. Next Level gives both the same size chart, describes each as a retail fit or cut, and lists both with a Regular fit type.

The 6210 also measures no smaller than two other tees we carry. It matches the Bella + Canvas 3001 and the Gildan 5000 in body length at every shared size, and in chest width from L up. Below L, the 6210 is half an inch to an inch wider in the chest. Bella + Canvas and Gildan list a one-inch tolerance on their own charts, so gaps that small fall inside it. In your usual size, a 6210 measures about the same as either shirt.

What the charts leave out is the shoulders and sleeves: none of the three spec sheets measures them, so judge those on a real shirt. To check a finished custom shirt before a full order, order one. A plain shirt with no logo is what the trade calls a blank. A blank sample is available on request for a small fee plus shipping.

Next Level 6210 and 3600 Size Chart in Inches and cm

One table covers both shirts, because the Next Level 6210 and 3600 publish the same chart. Chest is the width of the shirt laid flat, about half of its full chest measurement. Our guide to measuring a shirt laid flat shows how to check a shirt you already own. The maker allows half an inch either way on both numbers.

Size Chest laid flat (in) Chest laid flat (cm) Body length (in) Body length (cm)
XS 17 1/2 44 27 69
S 19 48 28 71
M 20 1/2 52 29 74
L 22 56 30 76
XL 24 61 31 79
2XL 26 66 32 81
3XL 28 71 33 84
4XL 30 76 34 86
5XL 32 81 35 89
6XL 34 86 36 91

Every color runs XS to 3XL on both shirts. Past 3XL the color list narrows; Black, Midnight Navy, Red, Royal, and White run to 6XL in both.

Does the Next Level 6210 Shrink?

The Next Level 6210 should shrink less than the all-cotton 3600, though Next Level publishes no shrink figure for either shirt. The 6210's spec sheet lists "fabric laundered," a line the 3600's sheet lacks, but Next Level doesn't say what that step does to shrink.

Fabric research backs the lower shrink. A 2025 Journal of Engineering study tested jersey knits made from cotton and recycled polyester. Fabrics with more cotton shrank more, and those with more polyester barely shrank. Cotton Incorporated's guide to shrinkage adds that synthetic fibers don't swell in water the way cotton does.

To keep either shirt's fit, hang it or lay it flat to dry. In the same Cotton Incorporated guide, tumble drying drew out all the shrink left in a cotton knit. The dryer's heat setting made no difference.

Has the Next Level 6210 Size Chart Changed?

No. Next Level's 2010 product page, saved by the Internet Archive, lists the same chest and length from S to 2XL as today's 6210 sheet. Its 2015 page matches from XS to 4XL.

Two 6210s in the same size can still differ. Next Level allows half an inch either way on each measurement, so they can sit an inch apart and both meet the sheet. Shirts bought months apart can also come from different production runs. When shirts must look alike, such as a crew's matching uniforms, order them together rather than topping up later.

Is the 6210 Too Warm or Too Thin for Work?

Heat research gives no reason to expect the Next Level 6210 to wear warmer than the 3600. For work, sweat odor and light fabric are the bigger questions. In a 2013 study in Wilderness and Environmental Medicine, eight men ran in about 89°F heat in cotton and polyester tees. While they ran, their skin, core, and body temperatures didn't differ between the fibers. Our guide to polyester vs cotton shirts covers those heat studies in more detail.

Odor is the stronger case for the 3600. In a 2024 odor study, researchers at the University of Alberta and New Zealand's University of Otago soaked six kinds of fiber in synthetic sweat. Polyester gave off more of two of the three odor types tested than cotton, and a day later it was still giving off more. For a crew that sweats in its shirts all day, that points to the all-cotton 3600.

At 4.3 oz per square yard, both shirts are light, and Next Level lists each one's thickness as lightweight. For a crew that wants a thicker shirt, the Gildan 5000 weighs 5.3 oz and the Comfort Colors 1717 weighs 6.1 oz.

Next Level 6210 and 3600 Colors, XS to 6XL

As of October 2026, we carry the Next Level 6210 in 41 colors and the 3600 in 45. The 6210's list leans on heathers and adds two neons, Neon Green and Neon Yellow, that the 3600 lacks. The 3600 carries names the 6210 doesn't, including Antique Gold, Bone, Clay, Dark Chocolate, Oatmeal, and Shiitake.

The next table lists the colors in each size above 3XL. If your group includes someone who wears a 5XL or 6XL, pick from the table's last row first. For a gray all the way to 6XL, the 6210 offers Charcoal and Dark Heather Gray, and the 3600 offers Heather Gray and Heavy Metal.

Eighteen color names appear on both shirts, among them Black, White, Cardinal, Midnight Navy, Military Green, and Sand. Neither spec sheet says a shared name matches across the two fabrics. If 3600s and 6210s will be worn side by side, order one of each in that color first.

Can You Print or Embroider a Logo on the Next Level 6210?

Both the Next Level 6210 and the 3600 take all three methods we offer, Print, Embroidery, and Patch, in the same spots. A print can run up to 13 x 17 inches on the full front or back and 8 x 8 inches at the center chest. A left or right chest logo fits a box up to 4 x 4 inches in any method. The design proof confirms the exact size before production.

A shirt with polyester in it carries a printing risk called dye migration. ASI, the promotional products industry group, defines it as color "from a polyester or polyester-blend garment" bleeding into the print. Its 2022 guide says it can happen with heat transfers and "might not show up for days, weeks or even months."

ASI's example is white ink on a red jersey taking on a pink tinge. The all-cotton 3600 falls outside that definition in its dark and red colors, so it's the cautious pick for a white print.

Embroidery works on both shirts, with one caution that comes with any light tee. On a thin knit, a large, dense, fully filled logo can pucker the fabric, while a lighter, more open design sits flatter. If a design looks too dense for the shirt, we point it out on the design proof. Patches fit the left or right chest, hems, upper back, back neck, and sleeves; a patch is a separate piece, hand-stitched on.

Which Next Level Apparel T-Shirts Do We Carry?

We carry four Next Level Apparel t-shirts: the cotton 3600 and CVC 6210 short sleeves, the 6010 tri-blend, and the 3601 cotton long sleeve.

Style What it is Fabric Weight Sizes Colors
3600 Short sleeve 100% combed ring-spun cotton 4.3 oz XS to 6XL 45
6210 Short sleeve 60% combed ring-spun cotton, 40% polyester 4.3 oz XS to 6XL 41
6010 Short sleeve tri-blend 50% polyester, 25% combed ring-spun cotton, 25% rayon 4.2 oz XS to 3XL 24
3601 Long sleeve 100% combed ring-spun cotton (Heather Gray 90/10) 4.3 oz XS to 3XL 14

The 6010 runs smaller than the 6210. Its large measures 21 1/4 inches across the chest laid flat and 29 1/2 inches long, against 22 and 30 on the 6210. The 3601 is the 3600's cotton with long sleeves, and it costs more per shirt, as does the 6010.

One design can go on any of the four, and shirts that share it count together for bulk pricing across styles, colors, and sizes. Shirts share a design when the artwork, spots, method, and note on each side all match.

6210 or 3600: Which One to Order

  • The 6210 suits groups that want less shrink, a heather color, or Neon Green or Neon Yellow, which the 3600 doesn't carry.
  • The 3600 suits sweaty work, buyers who want 100% cotton, white prints on dark or red shirts, and the colors only it carries.
  • A heavier tee, such as the 5.3 oz Gildan 5000 or the 6.1 oz Comfort Colors 1717, suits crews wanting a thicker shirt.

A mixed group can have both. Because the two publish the same chart, a group split between them collects sizes once. Both shirts can carry the same design on one order.

If the group can't agree, order one of each and let a few people wear them for a day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Next Level 6210 the same shirt as the N6210?

Yes. Some sellers add an N to the style number, and others use the maker's full name. The N6210 and the Next Level Apparel 6210 are the same CVC tee. We list it as the Next Level Apparel CVC T-Shirt. Its spec sheet reads 4.3 oz, 60% cotton and 40% polyester, 32 singles, and sizes XS to 6XL.

Which is tighter, the Next Level 3600 or 6210?

On paper, neither: both publish the same chest and length at every size, with the same half-inch tolerance. Next Level also lists both with a Regular fit type. Since the charts don't separate them, choose between them on fabric and color.

Do you carry the women's or youth Next Level CVC tee?

We carry four unisex Next Level styles: the 3600, 6210, 6010, and 3601. Sourcing a style we don't list, such as a women's or youth Next Level tee, is available on request. Contact us by phone, email, or live chat before you order.

Can I buy Next Level shirts wholesale?

Wholesale here means bulk pricing on custom orders, with your design on the shirts. The price per shirt falls as one design's quantity grows, whichever of the four Next Level styles you pick.

How much does a custom Next Level 6210 cost?

The price is the shirt plus a fee for each decorated spot, so a front-and-back design costs more than a chest logo alone. The 6210 and 3600 cost about the same per shirt, and the 6010 and 3601 cost more. On the 6210 and 3600, sizes 2XL and up cost more per shirt. The product page shows your total as you enter quantities.

Choose the Next Level 6210 for a light blend tee in heather colors or neons, and the 3600 for the same shirt in 100% cotton. Before you settle on a color for a big group, check which colors reach the sizes you need.

To add your logo, open the Next Level Apparel CVC T-Shirt from our t-shirt collection and press "Start designing." Pick a side, choose how that side is made, and place your artwork in one or more spots on it. You see the design on the shirt before you order. There is no minimum order, and we charge no setup or artwork fee.

We email you a design proof within 1 to 2 business days of your order, and revisions are unlimited. Once you approve it, your shirts ship in 1 to 2 weeks, and transit time is separate. We offer free U.S. shipping. Custom orders that match your approved proof can't be returned or refunded. A one-piece order is refundable only for a defect or a proof mismatch.
